As the nation celebrates the 70th Birthday of the NHS, John Eastwood Hospice staff released balloons to mark the occasion. Kevin Smith and Denise Cooper who have clocked up over 70 years of service between them, launched the balloons along with participating in other events at the Hospice. Patients were treated to a fabulous lunch of corned beef hash, followed by tapioca. This was the first meal and a favourite served by the NHS back in 1948.
